Fear of sex is overrated

Working on sex at The Kinsey Institute in Indiana comes with its challenges.
Though Alfred Kinsey's books were published a half century ago and the Institute itself has survived and grown at Indiana University since 1947, stepping outside of the protected walls can make us vulnerable.
Though I shouldn't have been surprised, Ann Fritz, Director of […]

QUESTION: I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for a few years, and he is hinting toward a marriage proposal. I love him and he is my best friend, but I have always been attracted to women. I have had great relationships with men, but my fantasies focus on other women. Now that the prospect of marriage has come up, I’m afraid that I will make the wrong choice. I could marry him and always wonder what it would be like to be with a woman. Or I could end the relationship, and see if I could have the sexually passionate relationship I would like with a woman. However, I’m afraid that I wouldn’t find the friendship, support and trust that I have with him. I guess part of my question is: what does it mean to be gay? I am attracted to women sexually- not men - but I can make deep, meaningful connections with men, while I have trouble establishing friendships with women. Sex with my boyfriend is not bad, but he really has to work to get me to orgasm. How do I figure this out?

Spring Break is Upon Us!

As Spring Break approaches, we'd like to take a little bit of time to send out some friendly reminders.

The next few weeks will be a well-deserved break for students at universities who have been working hard this semester. I know college kids hear the same stuff all the time about Spring Break from parents and professors - "Don't drink!" "Stay with your friends at all times!" "Don't make eye contact with anyone" - and my personal favorite, coming directly from my dad - "Hire a bodyguard so you'll be safe."

QUESTION: Lately I have noticed a dramatic reduction in the amount of semen I have. I realize it is a natural phenomenon but I think something more might be going on. The semen is often clear and watery. I also have a slight ache in my left testicle that is constant. When I start to get close to ejaculation, this testicle often will not cinch up in the scrotum like the other one will; or if it does it will make a slight “cracking” sound, like cartilage. Strange huh?
